We are AKC registered breeders located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and are dedicated to raising healthy and loving Golden Retrievers for families and individuals who cherish this wonderful breed. We first started owning golden retrievers in 2022.

Golden Retriever: Breed Profile

Golden Retrievers are medium to large-sized dogs known for their friendly temperament and beautiful golden coat. Originally bred in Scotland in the mid-19th century as hunting dogs specializing in retrieving waterfowl, they've become one of the world's most popular family pets.

Their dense, water-repellent double coat comes in various gold shades from light cream to deep gold. Males typically stand 23-24 inches tall and weigh 65-75 pounds, while females are slightly smaller at 21.5-22.5 inches and 55-65 pounds.

Golden Retrievers are renowned for their gentle, intelligent, and eager-to-please nature. They're excellent with children and other pets, making them ideal family dogs. Their high trainability makes them popular as service dogs, therapy dogs, and in search and rescue work.

They require regular exercise (about 1-2 hours daily) and thrive with mental stimulation. Their coat needs brushing several times weekly to manage shedding. With proper care, Golden Retrievers typically live 10-12 years. Common health concerns include hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and eye conditions.
